Arab Media Lab, together with Rooftop Films Marrakech, has launched a new independent festival: OUT OF THE FRAME – Marrakech Short Film Days. This event is dedicated to young filmmakers and mixed-media artists at the early stages of their careers—those who challenge conventional filmmaking and explore new cinematic languages and experimental approaches.

A total of 19 films by emerging directors from Morocco and abroad have been selected to compete for Best Film, Best Direction, Best Script, and Best Cinematic Innovation. While the themes vary widely, our focus has been on the creative process rather than traditional storytelling alone.

The festival will take place from December 18 to 20 at the Arab Media Lab headquarters in Marrakech.
